The Bakery chain Greggs, with approximately 1,700 shops and 20,000 employees is a leading UK bakery retailer. It is a huge success story and keeps going from strength to strength. There are many businesses with a food offering on the High Street, plenty of them are excellent and some are not so! Greggs is one of those great examples in the world of retail, of how to 'get things right'.

As a retail property investor, it is fantastic to hear positive news. It is music to our ears to hear that Greggs have announced positive third quarter trading results for 2016 and they say:

• Like for like sales have risen by 2.8%
• In the 13 weeks to 1st of October, total sales grew by 5.6%
• In the year to date 145 shops have been refurbished
• Over the last year 103 new shops have been opened
