Fashion is huge industry and retail plays a big part in that equation. From high end boutique stores in some of the most expensive high streets in the world, in London, New York and Paris, to market stalls in small towns, everybody at some point shops for clothes!

For anyone who works with retail property in some shape or form, it is always useful to pay attention to what is happening with recent trends in the world of fashion, as this can often reflect across the wider retail sector generally.

We have found a very interesting guide from Retail Week, which highlights a number of trends for 2015 including:

  • Footfall in January 2015 jumped up by 2%
  • 34% of UK consumers spend between £50 to £100 a month on fashion
  • Marks & Spencer tops the fashion charts, 33% say its their favourite fashion retailer
  • 77% of shoppers say price is the most important factor for them to consider
  • 62% of shoppers prefer to shop for fashion in store rather than on-line
  • 82% of people say quality is the most important factor when deciding on a fashion item
